JOHN L. KOENIG
Since 1986, John has represented privately held companies
in the areas of business formation and organization, equity
and debt financing, secured lending, mergers and acquisitions,
technology licensing, intellectual property protection, and
personnel arrangements.
John began his corporate law practice as an Associate with
Bancroft, Avery & McAlister in San Francisco, representing
family owned businesses, other private companies and entrepreneurs
in the formation, operation, financing and sales of their
businesses. In 1992 John started his own corporate law practice,
with an emphasis on start-up and technology companies.
In 1994, after relocating to the Boston area, John formed
a partnership with Roger Glovsky under the name Glovsky &
Koenig, P.C. where he represented start up and established
private companies in a variety of technology, professional
and service industries.
In 1998, John joined White & McDermott, P.C., where his practice
focused on venture capital and private placement financings,
and mergers and acquisitions, primarily on the sell-side.
The firm was renamed McNamara Koenig & McCarthy, PC in 2003.
John lent support to the founding of the Business Lawyers
Network, a network of lawyers and non-lawyer professionals,
whose mission is to provide access to people, information
and tools that facilitate the practice of law, though Roger
has done all the work. John serves as a member of the Lincoln
Finance Committee, and is chairman of the Lincoln Community
Preservation Committee.
John graduated from American University Law School, Cum Laude
in 1986 and from Harvard University in 1980. He is admitted
to practice law in California and in Massachusetts.
